Mary Hauser Hutchins

Mary Hauser Hutchins, 92, of Greensboro, entered into her heavenly home on Wednesday morning, October 5, 2022, at Clapps Nursing Center in Pleasant Garden.

Mary was born on an unseasonably warm Friday, February 21, 1930, in Germanton, North Carolina to proud parents, Robert Winfield Hauser and Helen Leak McKenzie Hauser. It was unusual for this area of North Carolina to experience such a warm winter day, however, the temperature on that day was a glimpse into the life that Mary would live. Throughout her life she shared so much warmth with others through her compassion and kindness. Through troubling times either in her own life or in the life of a family member or friend, Mary always seemed to find and share the sunshine.

Mary loved her family, she was a devoted wife to her husband Ira Harold Hutchins, she was a loving mother to two wonderful daughters, and a proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also a devoted sister, and enjoyed spending time with her beloved siblings. Mary was a woman with a strong faith and conviction in her heart to serve Christ through the talents and skills that He had given her. She was a talented seamstress, and could make anything you can imagine with precision and finesse.  Mary enjoyed the beach, and was a special devoted patron of the Carolina Opry. She was actively involved in her community serving in many charitable capacities, always seeking a way to give back to others. Mary was a cherished and faithful member of Jamestown United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Hauser; husband, I. Harold Hutchins; and several beloved siblings.

Left to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy of love and kindness are her daughters, Deborah Wilent (Stephen) of Greensboro, Diane Hutchins Guy of Jamestown; sister, Sarah Clements of Jamestown; grandchildren; Chris Yarborough, Mackenzie Leigh Guy; and great-grandson, Roman.

A private graveside funeral service to honor Mary’s life will be held at Hickory Chapel Wesleyan Church with Rev. Dr. David Greene officiating.

The family will hold a public celebration of Mary’s life from 2:00 - 4:00 PM on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the Sedgefield Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Jamestown United Methodist Church, 403 East Main Street, Jamestown, NC 27282.

Wright Funerals-Cremations, High Point is in charge of arrangements.
