Marvin Leonard Maynard

Marvin Leonard Maynard, 73, of Jamestown, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Wesley Long Hospital.

Born, October 5, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, he was a son of the late Marvin Maynard, and the late Thelma Mae Reynolds Maynard. Marvin retired as Chief Information Officer of Lincoln Financial and was a member of Green Street Baptist Church where he was the teacher of the Maynard Connection Class. He was a lifetime member of the Gideon's International where he served as a leader over a variety of posts. His passion for distributing the Bible was strong and he treasured the opportunity to serve. Prior to his many years here in High Point, he was a deacon at Orchard Hills Baptist Church in Novi, MI, and treasurer and Chairman of Deacons at Forest Park Baptist Church in Farmington Hills, MI. Wherever he lived, he served the Lord.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie Sue Maynard of the home; Jeremy Maynard and wife Andrea of High Point, and Jonathan Maynard and wife Stephanie of High Point; daughter, Elizabeth Olson and husband Jon of Georgia; sister, Margorie of New York; grandchildren, Benjamin Marvin Maynard, James Michael Maynard, Nicholas Marvin Maynard, Kinsley Noel Maynard, Luke Robert Olson, and Seth Charles Olson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, August 7, 2026, at Green Street Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Loy and Rev. Jonathan Goodman officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
