Marvin Howard Emerson, 76, of East Springfield Rd., went to be with the Lord Monday, March 21, 2016 at his home.

Born April 28, 1939 in High Point, he was a son of the late Howard Cleo Emerson and the late Jessie Jones Emerson. Mr. Emerson was a retired cloth cutter with Kaylin and was an avid bowler. He was a member of the Friendly Club, the Classic Seniors and Blessings Baptist Church.

Mr. Emerson is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Joann Willett Emerson of the home; children, Keith Emerson, Karen Emerson Vestal and husband Scott; grandchildren, Courtney Vestal Bull and husband Jordan, Hayley Vestal, Logan Vestal, and Nathaniel Vestal; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Bull and Zoie Bull.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Blessings Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
