Marjorie Stockard Holyfield, 98, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at her home.

Born May 5, 1921, in Guilford County, she was a daughter of the Victor C. Stockard, Sr. and  Ruth Herndon Stockard.  Marjorie had lived in Florida for 58 years.  She was the organist for North Fort Myers United Methodist Church, then later moved to New Port Richey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard G. Holyfield, Jr., brothers, Victor C. Stockard, Jr. and Robert L. Stockard, Sr., and niece Cynthia L. Mangum.

Mrs. Holyfield is survived by a sister, Rebecca Stockard Mangum, of White Lake, NC; two nieces, Laura S. Smith (Lewis) of Browns Summit, NC and Susan S. Hlawati of Oil City, Pa; nephew, Robert L. Stockard, Jr. (Chris) of Rowlett, TX; one great-niece, four great-nephews, and numerous great-great-nieces and nephews.

Graveside services celebrating her life will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Guilford Memorial Park, Greensboro, NC with Reverend Eugene Dean officiating.

A special thanks to her caregivers, Rob and Michelle Cormier for their loving and faithful care during the last four years.
