Marie Louise Williams, 66, of High Point, passed away Friday, March 13, 2026, at her home.
Born October 17, 1959, in Subic Bay, Philippines, to the late Rex Moody Williams and the late Margaret Hughson Williams.
Our mother and sister Marie loved her God and his magnificent Creation. She took every opportunity to work in her garden, tend to her trees, and mow the grass. God’s creative spirit flowed through her hands in her passion for crafting and crocheting. Most recently she shared her love by creating acrylic hearts for women experiencing pregnancy loss and designed a crocheted barnyard and farm animals for her oncologist and his children. Marie’s passion for missions led her to serve on several medical mission trips. Mostly recently her passion has centered on highlighting and supporting the work of NC Baptist Men and Disaster Relief.
As a single mother, Marie went above and beyond, being present at field trips and ball games, even after working a 24 hour shift. Lack of sleep could never stop her from being fully engaged in and supportive of anything and everything Maggie-related. Professionally Marie was a mentor and coach to so many throughout her 43 years of nursing and midwifery. Many have shared how her insight and encouragement spurred them on to achieve their goals and expand their horizons. Her biggest professional honor was being presented with the Legacy of Shiphrah Midwife Award at Cone Health and being honored for her loving care for so many families.
Once she began this journey called cancer, Marie’s coaching and encouragement shifted more directly to questions of faith and eternity. With every doctor visit, radiation treatment, or even a trip to the store, she seized every opportunity to speak the name of her Savior Jesus and direct people to His saving grace. Nothing would bless her more than knowing her story encouraged someone to consider Jesus. If you had the privilege of interacting with Marie in the last 8 months since she began this journey with “Kevin”, you would have heard her give honor and glory to Jesus. Would you consider the source of Marie’s hope and peace? Would you give Jesus a try?
Marie was a member of Green Street Baptist Church. She was a Registered Nurse midwife with Cone Health Care.
She is survived by her daughter, Maggie Williams, brother, Raymond Williams and wife Tammy, and sisters, Jeanne Oweis and husband Mutaz, Deborah Rodenhizer, and Edie Williams.
Memorial Service will be 11:00AM Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Green Street Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Loy officiating.
