Marie A. Mccartney

Marie A. McCartney, 67, of Archdale, passed away on December 11, 2019 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro NC.

Marie was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Adeline Nunes and Anthony Cedric Simon on March 11, 1952.  Marie graduated high school and did pursue some college. She loved being a grandmother and spending time with all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Marie is preceded in death by her mother Adeline Nunes, her father Anthony Cedric Simon, her sister Adelyne Mason, her brothers Anthony Simon and James Simon, and her stepson Michael McCartney.

Marie is survived by her husband Rick McCartney, her daughters Mary Fears husband Eddie, Samantha Ward husband Kevin, Pulani Kelly, and Vanessa Lawson, her son Russel McCartney wife Jennifer, her brothers William Simon spouse Louis, George Simon wife Holly, and Peter Simon wife Ida, her grandchildren Claudeen, Jacob, Claude Jr., Amy, Kevin, Eric Jr., Kawika, and Layton, her great grandchildren Kaimana, Kalena, and Kaila. She also leaves behind a total of 13 nieces and nephews. Marie was loved by many and will truly be missed by her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3pm on December 15, 2019 at New Heights Baptist Church located at 5082 Meadowbrook Drive, Trinity, NC 27370.
