Marian McLauchlin Hill, 90, of Greensboro, NC, passed away Monday, December 26, 2016 at the home of her son.

Born July 21, 1926 in Charlotte, she was a daughter of the late James McLauchlin and the late Elsie Burnette McLauchlin. In 1949 Marian moved to Alaska with her husband Jerry where they built their log home in Anchorage. Homesteading in those days made Marian a real Pioneer. Besides raising two boys and making a home in Alaska, she excelled in painting, singing and collecting.
Mrs. Hill is survived by her sons, Michael Hill (Janice) of Kihei, HI, and Karl Hill (Debbie) of Jamestown, NC; sisters, Elsie Covington (Dave) of Ellerbe, NC, and Carolyn Hancock of Lincolnton, NC; brothers, James McLauchlin (Anne) of Tampa, FL, and Ronald McLauchlin of Waxhaw, NC, grandchildren, Ryan, Jamison, Leanne, Kimberly, Keala and Alana; twenty-three great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Hill in 2001; sisters, Helen Culbertson and Linda McLauchlin.

Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 11:00 AM at The Vine United Methodist Church in Charlotte, NC.

The family will receive friends following the service.
