On Saturday, August 25, 2018 our beloved Margaretta M. Dennis, entered into eternal
Rest. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Billie Dennis. She was born
December 12, 1928 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Pearlon Marsh and Maggie Belle
Palmer (Lambert).
Margaretta was educated in the Philadelphia School System. She holds a Masters
Degree in the Science of Nursing. She is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State
University, Bronx Community College, City College at the City University of New
York, C.W. Post University. She had only her thesis to turn in, in order to obtain a
Doctorate Degree in the Science of Nursing.
Margaretta met and married Willie Billie Dennis on May 22, 1958. They started a
family in Greensboro, NC which migrated to and grew up in New York, NY and later
retired and relocated back to Greensboro, NC.
Margaretta worked in the field of Nursing. She entered nursing in 1945 and remained
a top echelon, proficient licensed registered nurse until her final breath. Nursing
was Margaretta, and Margaretta was nursing. It was in her blood. She has worked
everything from private practitioners, to Emergency Room, to Pediatrics, to Geriatrics.
Her nursing career saw her work her way from LPN all the way up to Director of
Nursing.
Margaretta was a devout christian and loved serving God and his church. She served as a Deaconess
and Missionary for 30 years while a member of Goodwill Baptist
Church, in Bronx, NY and an additional 23 years at New Hope Missionary Baptist
Church as a Deaconess, with the Missionary Ministry and Nursing Advisor to the
Nurses Unit.
Margaretta was an extraordinary soul. Her kindness, straight forwardness,and caring
was a breath of fresh air for everyone she met. She always had a kind word, good
greeting and conversation and wisdom to depart on all she met. No matter your status
in life, our life was sure to be enriched by this phenomenal woman.

Great Grandchildren: Torrin Stroud-Dennis, Ashanti Bell, Jacquella Bell, Jermayne
Bell, Joel Straw and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces,
godchildren, adopted children, and friends.
