Lona Faye Wills

Lona Faye Wills, 60, of Thomasville, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.

Lona was born in Roanoke, Virginia to Benjamin Ballard Wright and Bertie Katherine Shepphard on December 4, 1960.  She married Granville Edwards on February 12, 1999 in Randolph County, NC.  She worked several different jobs in the Grocery industry but mostly as a cashier.  Lona was a Christian who loved the Lord, which showed in how kind and loving she was to others.  She was always willing to help others in need.  She could make anyone laugh and made the best meat loaf.  When she was younger, she enjoyed playing basketball and cheerleading for her school.  She loved camping, butterflies, flowers and angel wings.

Lona is preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Bertie Wright; brothers, Bennie Wright, Richard Wright; and sister, Gloria Hurt.

Lona is survived by husband, Granville Edwards; daughters, Brandy Underwood, Mikki McCoy and Samantha Wills; sisters, Sherry Altizer, husband David, Carolyn Hodges, husband Kenny, Bonita Williams and Joyce Spradlin, fiancé Rodney Parker; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate Lona's life will be Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11:00AM at Celebration Church of God, 4429 Buck Mountain Road, Roanoke, VA 24078, with Pastor Sam Belisle officiating.
