Lois Elizabeth Lassiter passed away peacefully at Hospice Home, High Point on Saturday March 11, 2017.

Lois was born Oct. 19, 1916, the only child of James C. Hedrick and Sarah Elizabeth Hedrick.  After losing both parents by the age of nine, Lois was raised by her aunt and uncle, John and Minnie Morgan. Her warm spirit and smile entertained all whoever had the pleasure of her company.  She was married May 1, 1936, to Richmond Haywood Lassiter who precedes her in death.

Lois leaves behind two sons, Richard Lassiter (Shirley) and Doug Lassiter (Patricia), four grandchildren Shanna Warner (Jeff), James Lassiter (Aubrey), Raymond Pendry, Brian Pendry (Melissa), six great-grandchildren, Landon, Travis, Cayden, Addie, Tanner, and Austin Pendry, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

During her remarkable life she became an Administrative Assistant at the High Point Furniture Market retiring after 39 years. After retirement at the age of 72, she became active in volunteering with Meals on Wheels and at the High Point Regional Hospital.  Lois was a member of the Archdale United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be held on Thursday March 16, 2017, at 1:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM at the Archdale United Methodist Church.

The family wishes to thank the many friends that came into Lois’s life, and especially the friends at Westchester Harbour, the medical staff at High Point Regional Hospital, and the staff at Hospice Home.
