Linda Gayle Cecil Hoosier, 80, of High Point, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Hospice of the Piedmont.
Born June 5, 1944, in Guilford County, she was a daughter of the late Okla Homa Cecil and the late Estelle Pierce Cecil. Linda was a bookkeeper at NHFA and worked in the furniture industry most of her career. Linda was an active member of Lebanon United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Don Hoosier; son, David Crook and wife Rose of Florida; daughters, Missy Groscost and husband David of Ohio, and Mitzi Thompson and husband Christian of Kill Devil Hills; brother, Steve Cecil and wife Ellen of Florida; grandchildren, Kelly and Tracy Crook and Morgan and Jordan Groscost.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley Hughes and Judy Edwards.
Linda was adventurous, loved to travel, appreciated classic cars and never met an ice cream she didn’t like. Linda volunteered for hospice, Meals on Wheels and the food pantry at Lebanon UMC. She was the president of ABWA for numerous years and a member of Christian Women’s Business Association. Linda loved to shop and have lunch at her favorite restaurant Bistro 1605.
Linda loved her husband with all her heart. Don tirelessly cared for Linda spoiling her rotten and their love is an inspiration to us all.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday April 11, 2025, at Lebanon United Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lebanon United Methodist Church or volunteer your time at a local charity in her honor.
