Lee Bishop Martin, 46, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017.  Lee was born on December 20, 1970 in Greensboro, NC.  He grew up in Ohio and graduated from Westlake High School.  After high school, Lee attended St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, NC where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biology, played rugby, and formed an amazing circle of friends that would last a lifetime.  After college, Lee settled in Greensboro, NC and taught middle school science for several years before starting his own home improvement company.  Lee loved spending time with his beloved family and friends, riding his motorcycle, going to concerts, and playing with his nieces and nephew.  His true joy in life was helping other people.

Lee was preceded in death by his grandparents, his dad LeRoy Bishop Martin III, and his father Dwight Lee Nelson.  Lee is survived by his mother Carol Johnson Martin of Statesville, NC, brother Jonathan Mills Martin (Melissa) of Cornelius, NC, nieces Allison, Ashley, Aubrey, and nephew Alexander.  He is survived by aunts Kay Rouse of Greensboro, NC, Betty Gasque of Charleston, SC, Margaret Martin of Greenville, SC, and Martha Drouin (John) of Virginia Beach, VA; uncle Ed Johnson (Joyce) of Greensboro, NC.  He is also survived by many loving cousins and friends.

A family committal service will take place on Saturday, December 9 at 11 am at Westminster Gardens, 3601 Whitehurst Rd, Greensboro, NC 27410.  His memorial service will be held later that day at 2 pm at Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, 501 South Mendenhall St., Greensboro, NC 27403 with a reception following immediately afterward.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Lee’s name be made to St. Andrews University (1700 Dogwood Mile St., Laurinburg, NC 28352) or Hospice Home at High Point (1803 Westchester Dr., High Point, NC  27262) or The American Cancer Society (250 Williams St., Atlanta, GA  30303).
