Kermit Stamey Pierce

Kermit Stamey Pierce, 72, of Trinity, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Born August 8, 1945, in Guilford County, he was a son of the late Stamey Thorpe Pierce and the late Kathleen Poole Pierce. Mr. Pierce was a US National Guard veteran and in 1974 was a founder, Vice President and co-owner of Disque Furniture, now Jessica Charles Furniture. He was a member of Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, served on the church administration board, chairman of the church building fund, Sunday school teacher, choir and praise team member. Mr. Pierce was a member of the Hillsville Ruritan Club, past president of the Randolph County prison chaplain program and a former Cub Scout leader.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Burton Pierce of the home; son, Preston Howard Pierce and wife Donna of Seneca, SC; daughter, Carla Pierce Porter and husband Stephen of Greensboro; sister, Linda Adcock and husband Wilfred of Trinity; grandchildren, Lauren Pierce, Emily Pierce, Jacob Pierce, Hannah Porter, and Alexander Porter.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 26, 2018, in Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church with Pastor Andy P. Schulze, Rev. Jim Bowen and Rev. Allen Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM Wednesday at Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church
