Kenneth Ray “Kenny” Phillips, 55, of Thomasville, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the Hinkle House Hospice of Davidson County.

Born December 26, 1970, in High Point, he was a son of the late James Harold Phillps, Sr., and the late Betty Diana Parris Phillips. On July 1, 1989, he married the former Cheryle Lynn Atkinson.

Kenny was of Christian faith and loved his family unconditionally, spending time with his girls. He enjoyed playing laser light with his Australian Shepard, Emma. A favorite time would be spent walking on the beach of Cherry Grove looking for sand dollars and the perfect seashell. A scratch-off card or a trip to the casino would be a good time.

He enjoyed fishing with his son-in-law, Dylan and his father-in-law, “granddaddy” (Lars Atkinson, Sr.). Mostly a homebody, he enjoyed watching cartoons and movies, especially “Rambo, First Blood”. He enjoyed a biscuit from the Bizzy Bee and tinkering on cars would be a good time for him.

Left to cherish his memory; his loving wife of 36 years, Cheryle Atkinson Phillips; daughter, Kassie Lynn Phillips Cook and husband Dylan of Thomasville; special niece, Karri Turner; brother, Rev. James “Jimmy” Phillips, Jr., and wife Anita of Logan, OH; sister, Angela “Annegy” Phillips of High Point; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Memorial service will be 2:00PM, Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Wright Funerals-Cremations, High Point chapel with Rev. Jimmy Phillips, Jr. officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.
