Rev. Wick Kendall Hatton, Jr., 92, of Kernersville passed away Saturday, September 21, 2019, at Hospice Home at High Point.

Born March 14, 1927, in Webster County, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Wick Kendall Hatton, Sr. and the late Maggie Wynn Hatton. Rev. Hatton was a US Navy veteran and a graduate of Cumberland College. He was a retired Southern Baptist Minster serving many churches.  His kind, gentle and non-judgmental nature allowed him to share the word of God with hundreds of people everywhere he went. He began his ministry in the state of Kentucky, established the First Baptist Church in Pocahontas County, West Virginia, and continued to spread the gospel with stints in North Carolina and New York before returning to Kentucky to once again make his mark on a community of Christians in need of his service to the Lord.  He then returned to North Carolina and continued his wonderful ministry throughout his retirement.

Rev. Hatton is survived by his daughter, Kathy Garrett and husband Mark of Greensboro; grandchildren, Zack Garrett, Caroline Marlow and husband Will, and Chris Hatton; and great-granddaughter, Chandler Garrett.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Parman Hatton in 2012; and son, Danny Hatton.
