Ken Geisler

Kenneth Charles Geisler, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Hinkle Hospice House,  Lexington, NC.

Born Aug 9, 1936, in Chicago, Ill to the late Charles J. Geisler and Kathryn Margaret Rumbaugh.

Ken was an accountant and worked for Martin-Marietta in Chicago for several years before transferring, in 1966, to the Martin-Marietta Paint division in High Point.  He joined the Alderman Company in 1967 as Cost Accounting Supervisor and worked there for many  years.   The latter part of his career, he worked for Snow Lumber Company and Willard-Stewart.   After retiring, he worked as an accountant for Hunter Dalton, Sr. and Hunt Dalton at PHD Enterprises.   He always appreciated the opportunity the Daltons gave him.

He was a lifelong railroad enthusiast, especially the steam locomotives and enjoyed numerous excursions on them.   He collected railroad memorabilia including photos, recordings of various train whistles, and sounds of the rumbling engines.

Ken also collected stamps for a number of years, as well as an impressive collection of Tom Clark Gnomes.  He enjoyed baseball and Frango mints were another of his favorite things.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Edward Simborg; and sister Sandra Fay Geisler Viant.

Survivors include his sister, Gail Simborg Blades and brother-in-law James Blades; six nieces/nephews; five great nieces/nephews; one great, great niece; special friends Scott and Holly Sheffield; and cherished friend for over fifty years, David S Hedrick.

No services are planned.
