Kemp Lee “Bubba” Swaim, Jr., 71, of Lexington, passed away, Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Thomasville Medical Center.
He was born July 3, 1954, in Asheville; he was a son of the late Kemp L. Swaim, Sr. and the late Rubye Beeson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Holcombe; and his cousin-in-law, Niels Madsen.
Bubba loved to laugh and have a good time with his family. Some of his best times were his birthday parties eating cake and ice cream. A true Dale Earnhart fan, he loved watching NASCAR races. Some of his most special times were fishing with his dad at Atlantic Beach.
Those left to cherish his memory: his sister, Maria Reid and husband Paul; brother, Rick Swaim and wife Catharine; nieces and nephews, Tim Reid (Rebecca), Tina Cresong (Mark), Wendy Douglas (Robert), Dusty Benston (Scott), Stephanie Phillips (Blake); cousins, Rachel Madsen, Richard Miller (Lynn), and Reesa Alexander (Tracy); and his special caregiver, Pat Swaim.
Graveside Service to celebrate Bubba’s life will be 9:00AM Thursday, July 31, 2025, in the New Friendship Baptist Church cemetery; 4258 Old Lexington Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27107; with Pastor Chris Byrne officiating.
The family will briefly greet friends following the service. The family has requested that you dress casually to honor Bubba’s memory.
