MSgt. Marvin Kay Andrews, USAF Retired, passed away February 26, 2018, at Spring Arbor in Thomasville.
Born in High Point on January 10, 1934, he was the son of William R. Andrews and Letha B. Andrews of Trinity. Kay, as he was known, grew up in Trinity and graduated from Trinity High School in 1952.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, his high school sweet heart the former Frances Wagoner Andrews; and his five surviving children, Cindy A. Craven (Ted) of Archdale, Bill (Leo) Andrews of Smithfield, Terry Lee (Addie) Andrews of High Point, Susan Fagg (Bill) of Thomasville, and Mike (Deborah) Andrews of Greensboro; nineteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Betsy (John) Ingram of Summerfield.
He was predeceased by his parents and one son, Charles (Chuck) Andrews.
He retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of service, and was a flight engineer on the C141 and C5. Kay was very proud of his service in the Air Force and loved his flying time, getting to travel around the world, and especially his service during the Vietnam War.
He loved his family above everything and was so proud of his children and loved having them every Sunday for lunch.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 3, 2018, at The Trinity Community Park, located at the corner of Old Meadowbrook Rd. and Hwy. 62 in Trinity with Rev. Rusty Parsons officiating.
Military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
The family will welcome friends at their home at 7268 Hwy, 62 Trinity after the service.
We want to thank all the staff at Westwood Rehab and Spring Arbor for their excellent care while he was a resident there.
In place of flowers the family asks that monetary donations be made to the Trinity Historic Society, PO Box 777 Trinity NC 27370.
