Obituary

Miss Katie Sue Shuler, 74, a resident of Davidson County formerly of Unity Street in Thomasville, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born on March 3, 1946 in High Point to Walter Thomas Shuler and Katie Veigh Burton Shuler. She was a member of First Wesleyan Church in High Point. She graduated from Thomasville Senior High School and NC A&T State University.  Her early career began as the bookkeeper for the Thomasville City School System.  She was the comptroller for Wright of Thomasville for many years.  Later she earned a degree in education and was a vocational teacher at Thomasville High School and North Davidson High School, where she retired in 2006.   After her retirement she was a breeder of Havanese dogs.  Katie had many hobbies and her favorite was needlework.  Her greatest joy was vacationing at the beach, especially the Outer Banks.

Surviving are brothers, Randall T (Bud) Shuler and wife Peggy of Thomasville, and John A Shuler and wife Martha of High Point; nieces and nephew, Karen Shuler, Randall Shuler, April S Green (Tommy), and Ashley S Mullin (John); great-nieces and great-nephew, Savannah D Ferrell(Jake), Grace Mullin, and Ryan Mullin.

The family would like to thank Katie’s many friends for the care and concern they provided her.

No services are planned.

Wright Funerals-Cremations is in charge of the arrangements.
