Kathy June (Carlisle) Niebauer

Kathy June Carlisle Niebauer, 74 of Colfax, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro. Kathy was a resident of High Point for almost 50 years and had recently moved to River Landing in Colfax. She also enjoyed spending time at their home in Ocean Isle Beach.

Born June 19, 1949, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late June Leonard Zike, James Robert Carlisle, and Victor V. Zike. Kathy graduated from Slippery Rock State College and started her career as an elementary school teacher. She was a partner in Perfect Papers and hung wallpaper, then started her 25 years career as a Realtor in High Point. She retired to enjoy her family and four grandchildren. Her most cherished role was being a grandma or “LaLa” as they affectionately called her. She was actively involved with the grandkid’s sports, school, and church activities. Kathy was always the first to read the newspaper and text a photo of the highlights when she spotted their names or photos. She loved to host family dinners and spend time with her family.

Kathy was actively involved in the High Point community for almost 50 years through Wesley Memorial’s Wesley Women, Brand X Sunday School class, Staff Parrish, VBS, and teaching Sunday School. She was also involved with DAR, Literary League, Emerywood Garden Club, Junior League of High Point, Kiwanis Club of High Point, Bible Study Fellowship, and United Way. In her River Landing community she enjoyed making new friends, and the activities at the fitness center.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Niebauer of 53 years; sons Randy Niebauer and wife Catherine, Scott Niebauer and wife Lori; grandchildren; Chase, Emma Carlisle, REN, and Nicholas.

She was preceded in death by her mother June Zike, father Jim Carlisle, and step father Vic Zike.

Celebration of Life service will be conducted Wednesday, December 20 at 1:00 PM at Wesley Memorial Methodist Church with Dr. Jeff Patterson officiating. The service will also be live streamed 1:00 EST at wesleymemorial.org/live.

The family will receive friends in the Asbury Room following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Wesley Memorial Methodist Church (Wesley Women), 1225 Chestnut Street, High Point, NC 27262 or DAR (Scholarship Fund), Alexander Martin Chapter, NCSDAR, P.O. Box 6028, High Point, NC 27262.
