Listen to Obituary

Katherine Anne Marsh, 60, a resident of Winston-Salem passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, following a valiant fight against cancer with her mother by her side. She was born May 27, 1965 in High Point, NC.

Katherine attended Salem College having been awarded a partial scholarship in voice as the winner of High Point’s Junior Miss Pageant. She also attended GTCC and UNCG. She was a member of The Living Theatre and performed in Manhattan. Katherine formed bands and sang solos at local venues; she was the founder of Barefoot Marsh Productions.

She immersed herself in her Scottish heritage and enjoyed being a Francophile and speaking French.

Katherine was presented at The High Point Debutante Ball in 1984. She made her debut at The North Carolina Debutante Ball the same year.

Katherine’s life was centered around the creative arts. Most recently she was working on a screen play, painting and teaching herself to play the piano. Her last creation was to bake her first ever pie for Thanksgiving. It was an apple one with no sugar, only honey, and brought rave reviews.

She rode the roller coaster of life making the most of every twist and turn. Her favorite song was “ Non, je ne regretterien” (I have no regrets).

Katherine was pre-deceased by her grandparents Katherine Hardin Marsh Peyton, Howard Darnaby Marsh Sr, Edwin Aubrey Peyton, Dell Alspaugh Wilson, Harold Lamar Wilson, Sr. She is survived by mother Margaret Jane Marsh, aunt Kitty Marsh Montgomery, uncle Howard Darnaby Marsh II, and cousins.

A special thanks to Lyn Filip and Victoria Britt for their compassionate healthcare.
