Katherine “Katy” Jean Rudnicki Bobb, 80, of Jamestown, passed away, Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at High Point Medical Center.
She was born February 27, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Edward Rudnicki and the late Catherine Zacharski Majewski.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William “Bill” Majewski.
Those left to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Paul Bobb; sister-in-law, Laura Majewski; niece, Brynn Majewski; and her nephew Reid Majewski and wife Ariel.
Katy devoted her life to education, faith, and family, leaving behind a legacy of love, learning, and service. She taught elementary school at Montlieu Avenue Elementary School for 30 years, where she touched countless young lives and was honored as Teacher of the Year for High Point Schools. Following her retirement from public schools, she continued to nurture young children as director of the preschool at First Presbyterian Church for 20 years.
A woman of deep faith, Katy was an active member of First Presbyterian, where she served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, youth advisor, and leader on numerous committees. She found great joy in sharing her gifts and helping her church family thrive. Beyond her dedication to education and service, Katy loved reading a good book and tending to her garden and experiencing the beauty of the world through her travels. Her journeys took her across Europe, China, the Mediterranean, Alaska, Hawaii, and many other treasured destinations.
Katherine will be remembered for her kind spirit, her dedication to children and faith, and her passion for life’s simple and grand adventures.
A Celebration of Life service will be at First Presbyterian Church; 918 N. Main Street, High Point; with the Reverend Doctor Ken Broman Fulks officiating. The day and time will be announced soon.
The family will greet friends following the service.
Inurnment will be in the church Columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to First Presbyterian Church, or the charity of your choice.
