Karen Peterson, 63, of Greensboro, North Carolina, passed away peacefully with herfamily by her side on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Hospice Home at High Point.
She was born in upstate New York on May 10, 1963, to David Kranz and Martha O’Hyrn (née Johnson). Karen and her family moved to Florida when she was 15 yearsold, and she later graduated from Tavares High School.
Karen lived in Virginia, where she met her husband, Christopher Peterson. They later settled in Greensboro, North Carolina, in 2004.
She became an ordained minister with Triad Fellowship and Renaissance Church of High Point. Karen loved her family deeply. She and her husband, Chris, were foster parents for more than a decade, lovingly opening their home to 19 foster children and adopting three into their family.
Karen continued sharing her love for others by becoming a life coach and volunteering with her church. She was also a mentor with Cancer Hope Network.
Along with her parents, those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Chris; daughters, Karianne, Stephanie, Lisa, Miranda, Skylynn, and Breanna; son, Markuis; brother, Ned; sister, Sheila; grandchildren, Kaylyn, Nicholas, Aydan, Juliana, and Jordan; and one great-grandchild yet to be born.
A Celebration of Life service honoring Karen will be held at Renaissance Church of High Point on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
