Karen Doty Johnson

Karen Doty Johnson, 87, of High Point, passed away Monday, October 12, 2026, at Hospice Home of High Point with her loving family at her side.

She was born July 20, 1939, in Forsyth County, to the late Virgil Doty and the late Virginia Williard Doty. On July 15, 1954, she married her beloved Wayne Harris Johnson and together they spent 70 years of marriage before his death on December 11, 2024.

Karen loved the Lord with all her heart; she and Wayne attended Trulite Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Harris Johnson.

Left to cherish her memory; sons, Terry Wayne Johnson and Keith Johnson (Laura); daughter, Tina Nance; grandchildren, Kristen Tysinger (Dustin), Jessica Edmonds (Steven), Wesley Johnson, Stephanie Champy (Ryan), Kerry Johnson (Miranda), and Jonathan Slade; great grandchildren, Dylan, Cory, Eli, Mira, Napier, Olive, Autumn, Riley and River.

Funeral service will be 2:00PM Friday, October 16, 2026, in the High Point Chapel of Wright Funerals-Cremations, with Rev Adam Pickard officiating.

Burial will follow in the Guilford Memorial Park cemetery.

The family will receive friends 1:00-1:45PM prior to the service.
