Joseph Andrew Stevens, 95, of Jamestown, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Shannon Gray Nursing and Rehab.

Born June 22, 1921, in Waterbury, CT, he was a son of the late John Steponaitis, Sr. and the late Domicella Starkis Steponaitis. Mr. Stevens was a US Army veteran serving during WWII. He was a retired engineer from Chrysler Motor Company and was an avid golfer having won many tournaments in Michigan.

Mr. Stevens is survived by his wife of thirty years, Peggy Tenny Stevens of the home; children, Cindy Stasik and husband Dave of MI, Jeffrey Stevens and wife Jan of Asheville, Richard Stevens and wife Pat of MI, step-children, Gregory Riddle and wife Teresa of Taylorsville and Vickie Jerrigan and husband Joe of Durham; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and siblings, he was predeceased by his first wife, Valarie Kisielus.

Services will be conducted at a late date.
