Joseph Paul Melendez, 64, of Thomasville, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Hospice Home at High Point.

Born November 29, 1953, in Mooresville, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Raymond Melendez, Sr. and the late Rosa Rivera Melendez.

Mr. Melendez is survived by his wife, Virginia Nichols Melendez of the home; sons, Eric Melendez and wife Donielle, and Joe Melendez and wife at Christina all of Philadelphia; daughters, Tovah Walker and husband Earl of High Point, Elizabeth Melendez of Philadelphia, and Alexa Rae Melendez and wife Ruth of Philadelphia; brothers, Alex Alicea, Raymond Alicea, Reinaldo Alicea Christopher Alicea, and George Alicea all of New Jersey; sisters, Elena Collazo of New Jersey, and Carmen Collazo of Colombia; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Friday, October 19, 2018, at Unity United Methodist Church in Thomasville.
