Joseph Darrell Kersey, 80, of High Point, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018, at his residence.  He had been in declining for several months.

Mr. Kersey was born June 21, 1938, in Guilford County, a son of the late John Henry and Martha Cashatt Kersey.  A lifelong resident of the area, Mr. Kersey was a retired auto mechanic and gunsmith.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Kersey was predeceased by two brothers, Henry Alton Kersey and Raymond Eugene Kersey.

Mr. Kersey is survived by four sons, Dr. Farrell R. Kersey of Durham; Darrell W. Kersey, Harrell E. Kersey, and Robert L. Kersey, all of High Point; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his canine buddy, Molly.

At the request of Mr. Kersey, services will be private.
