Jonathan Edward Gainey

Jonathan Edward Gainey, 39, of Archdale, North Carolina passed away, Saturday, November 21, 2020 in Archdale.

Jonathan was born in Hartsville, South Carolina to Travis Walker and Barbara Johnson Wallace on April 11, 1981.  John married his soulmate and ride or die, Marie Heath on July 21, 2016 in High Point, North Carolina, but was established with Marie February 17, 2004. He worked as a mechanic for himself for many years.  He enjoyed fishing and was an amazing chef.  He also loved playing video games and watching anime.  Not only did he make his profession as a mechanic, but John was also a Mr. Fix-it and could do anything.  Anywhere he went, he never met a stranger. He is remembered for having a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone, including giving a homeless man the shoes off his own feet.  He truly loved his family and making memories with them.

Jonathan is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Wallace, who was the glue that held the family together. He is also preceded in death by his biological father Travis Walker; sister April Gainey; and the first love of his life and mother of his two oldest children, Crystal Hughes.

Jonathan is survived by his wife Marie Gainey; sons, Travis Gainey and Destin Gainey; daughters, Alura Gainey, Serenity Gainey, and Temperance Gainey; brother, Todd Gainey; sister, India Walker; special cousin Shatana Wallace, who he always considered more as a sister; grandchildren, Wynter Rose McCall, the apple of his eye; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 5th at 2:00 PM at Whispering Hope Baptist Church, 300 E. Springfield Road, High Point, North Carolina with Pastor Carmichael officiating.
