Johnny Long

Johnny Long, 83, of High Point, passed away Friday, January 31, 2025, at the High Point Medical Center.

Born April 10, 1941, in Conway, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Morgan B. Long and the late Tempie Faircloth Long. Johnny served in the US Army and retired after twenty-two years of service and eighteen years as a truck driver. His fondest times were spent with Gladys as they would travel and camp in their motor home.

Johnny is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Long Dillon and husband Mark of Sophia; grandchildren, Thomas Myles Dillon and wife Hannah, and Johnathan Cole Dillon and wife Kimberly; great-grandchildren, Hudsyn Mae Dillon, Case Dillon, Ada Dillon, Emma Dillon, Hendrix Dillon, and Haddon Dillon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty-three years, Gladys Hayworth Long; brothers, Baxter Long, Donnie Long, twin brother Jimmy Long, Bill Long and Houston Long, sisters, Maggie Johnson, Clara Mae Miller, Evelyn Butts, Genevie Hucks, and Gladys Mae Long.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 4, 2025, in the High Point Chapel of Wright Funerals-Cremations with Rev. Cole Dillon officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr., High Point, NC 27262.

Wright Funerals-Cremations, High Point is in charge of arrangements.
