John Edward Bumgarner

John Edward Bumgarner, 76, of Trinity, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019 in Trinity, North Carolina.

John was born in Davidson County to Ray and Mae Bumgarner on September 1, 1943.  He married Nancy Bumgarner on November 21, 1972. John was a truck driver and drove for Yellow Freight for most of his career.  He loved fishing and telling his fishing stories, which were always much bigger than the fish he would catch.

John is preceded in death by his father, Ray Bumgarner; mother, Mae Cardwell Bumgarner; and son, Mark Bumgarner.

John is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Nancy Bumgarner; sons, Edward (Eddie) Bumgarner of Archdale, North Carolina, Scott Bumgarner of Trinity, North Carolina; Johnny Bumgarner of Florida; daughter, Terri Ball Barns and husband Jim, of Trinity, North Carolina; Grandkids Zoe Bumgarner, Luke Bumgarner, Amy Brown, Katie Barnes, and Chris Whisnant; Great-grandkids Maddie and Stella; sister Judy Simpson and husband Jimmy of Mt. Gilead; nieces, Nancy Lewis and Susan Wilsford.  He is also survived by his dogs Casey and CoCo.

A graveside service will be held Monday, November 25, 2019 at eleven o’clock in the morning at Floral Garden Cemetery, 1730 West English Road, High Point, North Carolina with Pastor Ty Thompson officiating.
