John Alson Bowers

John Alson Bowers, 91, of High Point, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Randolph Hospital.

Born November 21, 1932, in Guilford County, he was a son of the late John Lee Bowers and the late Lola Frazier Bowers.  John was a school bus driver and a Veteran of the United States Army.  He also was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church but attended Green Street Baptist Church.

He is survived by nephews, Terry Johnson and John M. Bowers; and nieces, Katherine Stevenson and Angela Beck.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lavon Saunders Bowers, brother, Mitchell Lee Bowers, and sister, Joan B. Johnson.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Holly Hill Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends following the service.
