JoAnn Yarborough Fitzgerald, 73, of Trinity, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 31, 2017.

She was born March 31, 1944, in High Point to Stanton and Virginia Yates Yarborough who preceded her in death. Mrs. Fitzgerald attended Allen Jay School and grew up in “Bakertown” and maintained lifelong friendships with her childhood neighbors and friends, who she said “were like her brothers and sisters.”  Even though her material possessions were few, she was always a loving, giving person who shared with all.

She is survived by her children, Dwayne Midkiff, Deanna Kiser, and Rodney Kiser and their spouses; grandchildren, Ashley Midkiff, Casey, Joshua, Kayla, and Joseph Belangia, Keith and Kevin Kiser; and fifteen great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Huffman; brother, Buddy Yarborough, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Samuel Fitzgerald; granddaughter, Jennifer Midkiff; sisters, Marion Varner and Laverne West; and brother, Eddie Yarborough.

The family of JoAnn would like to offer a special thanks to her niece Towa McNair for her constant love and care.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Hilliard Memorial Baptist Church on Westchester Drive in High Point. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
