Jo-Ann Macdonald Brickman

Jo-Ann MacDonald Brickman of Galax, VA went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 5th. She was born in Teaneck, NJ on May 12, 1942 to Harry and Lydia Wolcott MacDonald.

Jo-Ann was a devout wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was her favorite place to be. Jo-Ann was also a devout Christian and served God endlessly through her service to others. She was a preschool teacher and special needs aide. She served as a team with her husband, Frank, ministering to the forgotten, the unloved and the less fortunate. She was active in her choir, as a youth leader and had a special love for the mentally disabled.

The love between Jo-Ann and Frank was a bond like no other. Married on June 8, 1963; Jo-Ann will celebrate her 57th wedding anniversary with Frank in Heaven.

Jo-Ann and Frank lived and loved passionately and with more sincerity than many see in their lifetime. Frank summed up his love for Jo-Ann best in a letter he wrote, “Our love will be ever lasting and we will have togetherness forever and ever”. Togetherness forever was their motto. At last, Jo-Ann has joined Frank, together forever with her Bunny Baby.

Jo-Ann is preceded in death by her parents; Harry MacDonald and Lydia Wolcott MacDonald. Her siblings; Harry MacDonald Jr, Charles Ganz and Jean Sundermann. Beloved husband Frank Charles Brickman and good friend Jim Disbrow.
