James “Jimmy“ Alton Malpass, 86, a resident of Archdale, NC, went peacefully home to be with the Lord on Saturday February 18, 2023 at High Point Medical Center.

Jimmy was born February 12, 1937, in High Point, NC and was the son of the late Alton Jennings and Ethelyne Moser Malpass of Jamestown, NC.

He lived in Jamestown, High Point and Myrtle Beach before retiring in Archdale.

He was a car dealer by trade and owned dealerships in High Point and Myrtle Beach. Throughout his life he served in ministry at Green Street Baptist Church and his home church in Myrtle Beach with a heart for evangelism and outreach. He served in the Army National Guard. He was dearly loved by family and friends. He touched the lives of many with his happy and good natured personality.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson, Jordan Cody Ijames.

He is survived by 3 sisters: Carolyn Ann (Jerry) Williams, Ronda Gail (and the late Kirk) Rich and Glenda Cheryl (Bruce) Jones, as well as 2 sons, Terry Ray Malpass, Brad Alton (Sandra) Malpass, a daughter Delane Malpass, 8 grandchildren, Tera (Derek) Shell, Chad (Alix) Malpass, Ashley Weeks, Cameron (Ashley) Weeks, Dylan Malpass, Simona Malpass, Christopher ( Alexis) Malpass, Luke (Morgan) Weeks, 8 great-grandchildren Chandler Shell, Jaiilyn Malpass, Madi Wadsworth, Grey Malpass, Bryan Malpass, Remington Malpass & Mila Weeks, Jax & Chloe and 2 great-great- grandchildren, Gavin Lewis and Victoria Ijames.

A graveside service will be held at Oakwood Memorial Park Mausoleum, 512 Steele Street,  High Point, NC at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 22, 2023.  Please use Steele Street entrance due to construction.

The family would like to express gratitude for the love and care Jimmy received during his time at Greybrier Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
