On August 1, 2021, at age 69, Jerry Lee Miller transitioned from the earth and peacefully ascended into the everlasting life. He now rests in the presence of Almighty God and the heavenly hosts. On November 16, 1951, Jerry was born in Salisbury NC to the late Ada Lily Ellis Miller Whitener and Cicero Correll. Jerry briefly resided in Massillon, Ohio but ultimately relocated to High Point, NC in his adolescent years. He graduated from High Point Central High School, Class of ’73. Upon completing high school, he enrolled in Guilford Technical Community College in pursuit of an associate degree in Welding Technology and obtained his certification. During his career as a Master Welder at Mickey Truck Bodies, Jerry was saluted as Master Welder of the month by the company leaders. He was known for being able to weld anything, and he did just that until he retired in 2014 after more than 3 decades in his chosen occupation. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and listening to all types of music.
Jerry was a devoted man to his occupation and his family. He loved everyone, and his kindness and patience earned him many associates and friends who loved to be in his presence.
In 2017, Jerry surrendered his life to the Lord and became an official member of True Salvation Christian Fellowship in Greensboro, NC.
He was preceded in death by sisters: Joyce Little and Jerlene Brown, brother: Paul Miller, cousin: Larry Dean Bost, father and mother-in-law: John Hardison Timmons (Irene) Jerry leaves to cherish loving memories: his wife of 43 years Delores Timmons Miller, daughters: Lasonya James of Brooklyn, NY, Yoko Miller Wilson (Chris) of High Point, NC, sons: San Juan C. Timmons (Christina) of Greensboro, NC, Jerry Brooks (Cassandra) of Wake Forest, NC, Tory Brooks of High Point, NC, sisters: Jane Thomas of High Point, NC, Doris Howze of High Point, NC, Debra Carrell of Philadelphia, PA, brother: William (Bill) Payne of High Point, NC, Claude Correll of Maryland, grandchildren: Kiara, Kezia, Leslie, Damian, Tyra, Jacob, Jadyn, Zoey, Honesty, Lau- ren, Pacience, great grandchild: Josiah, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he held dear to his heart.
A visitation will be held from 12pm-1pm Sunday August 8, 2021 immediately followed by the funeral service at 1pm at True Salvation Christian Fellowship located at 1901 Spencer Street, Greensboro, NC 27401. The committal will be held after the funeral service at Guil-Rand Memorial Park located at 1550 Hwy 62 West, High Point, NC 27263.
