Jerry Wayne Carpenter, 72, of High Point, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Hospice Home at High Point.

Born September 8, 1946, in Union County, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Bernard Edward Carpenter and the late Annie Deese Carpenter. Mr. Carpenter was a US Army veteran and a retired social worker with foster care systems.

He is survived by his husband of forty-seven years, David Bradley Carpenter; sons, Justin Carpenter of Massachusetts, and Jason Carpenter of California; sisters-in-law, Christine Phillips and family of Jamestown, Bonnie Lemons and family of Greensboro, and Dolly Perdue and family of Stokesdale; nieces, Jennifer Rhodes, Patty Hughes, and Angie Bradley.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM Thursday, August 22, 2019, at Wright Funerals-Cremations.
