Jeanne (Neece) Blakely

Jeanne Neece Blakely, 83, of Jamestown, passed away November 5, 2024, at the Hospice Home of High Point.

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend Reatha Jeanne Neece Blakely, passed away on November 5th after a long battle with Leukemia and later Alzheimer’s disease. Jeanne Blakely was 83 and was surrounded by her devoted loving husband when she passed.

Jeanne was born April 5,1941 in Nashville, Arkansas to the late Alvie Neece and the late Jane Chamber Neece.

On August 21,1959 she married Ronny Dale Blakely, and they spent 65 loving years together.

She had various jobs throughout her life. Her most accomplished was working as a Legal secretary for Fulbright & Jaworski Law Firm. However, her most meaningful “job” was helping to raise her grandchildren as well as many of the neighborhood children in MN and NC.

One of Jeanne’s great joys was teaching the Bible, which she started in High School and continued at various churches in AR, TX, MN, and NC until she began to struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was a current member of the First Baptist Church Greensboro.

When she was not preparing her bible studying lesson, she enjoyed needle point and jewelry making with friends.

Left to cherish her memory; her loving husband, Ronny Blakely; son, Mark Kevin “Kip” Blakely and wife Melissa Ann “Lee” Blakely of Silverthorne, CO.; and her grandchildren, Mark Henry Blakely and Kilee Ann Blakely.

The family will celebrate Jeanne’s life on Saturday, November 16th at 11am in the Chapel at First Baptist Church Greensboro; 1000 W Friendly Ave., Greensboro, NC 27401.
