Jeanette Gudrun Ouren Wilson , 95, passed away on November 7th, 2016 at River Landing at Sandy Ridge in Colfax, North Carolina.

She was born on March 14, 1921 in Hanska, Minnesota to Marvin Gehart Ouren and Ingeborg Blien Ouren.  Jeanette attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota and then graduated from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Following college, she was recruited by Price Waterhouse in Chicago, who afforded her the opportunity to train at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois in accounting.  Feeling the need to serve her country during World War II, she later worked in the accounting department for the American Red Cross in the Philippines as well as in Korea.  After the war, Jeanette visited a Red Cross friend in Greensboro where she met and ultimately married Edward Clark Wilson of High Point.  They were married for 61 years before his death in 2010, and together they established a happy home for their three children.

Clark and Jeanette were active members of High Point Friends Meeting and many Quaker organizations.  Jeanette’s involvements included working at the American Friends Service Committee, Friends Association for Higher Education, and volunteering for the Friends World Committee.

What Jeanette valued the most was time with her family, whether at home, Holden Beach or Quaker Lake.  She was adored by each of her six grandchildren, who lovingly refer to her as "Muv."

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward Clark Wilson, and her sister, Mildred Ouren Addy.  She is survived by her brother, Marvin Gehart Ouren, Jr. and children Patricia Wilson Sams (Fred), Edward Clark Wilson, Jr. (Terri), and Marsha Wilson McCrory (Phil).  She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Edward Clark Wilson III, Laura Sams Wansley (Dave), Kristin Sams Crowe (John), Philip Wilson McCrory (Lauren), Christopher Scott McCrory (Emery), and Mary Nicholson McCrory, and three great grandchildren: Elizabeth Hardin Wansley, John David Wansley III, and Charlotte Evelyn Crowe.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to River Landing at Sandy Ridge, 1575 John Knox Drive, Colfax, N.C. 27235 or to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, N.C. 27262.
