Dorothy "Jean" Hancock Grainger, 65, of Thomasville, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Randolph Hospice House.

Born April 9, 1961, in Davidson County to the late Paul Edward Hancock and the late Lessie Auman Myers Hancock.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kent Grainger of High Point, Tony Peters and wife Dawn of Thomasville, Anthony Peters of Lexington, Cheryl Martin and husband Josh of Welcome, and Lisa Tysinger of Randleman; brother, Dale Johnson; sisters, Doris Carter and Janice Jump and husband Eddie; grandchildren, Brandon Hedgcock, Ashley Hedgcock. Gage Peters and wife Amanda, Logan Peters, Breann Martin, Chloe Peters, Cody Dillard, and Katie Martin, and one great-grandson, Lucas Hedgcock.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Nelson Grainger on February 10, 2021.

Graveside service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, May 14, 2026, in Holly Hill Memorial Park.

The family will greet friends following the service.
