Janice Elaine Cox, 65, of High Point, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Hospice Home at High Point.

Born April 8, 1951 in Guilford County, she was a daughter of the late Monroe Edward Cox, Sr. and the late Theresa Rector Cox. Janice was a retired operator with North State Telephone for thirty-six years, worked at Home Depot for ten years and was a Christian. Janice loved fishing at Kure Beach Pier, playing golf and visiting Wilmington. She was a past member of the Jamestown Ladies Golf Association and was a 1970 graduate of Allen Jay High School. She was proud to be a “Jaybird”.

Janice is survived by her sister, Clara Jean Cox of High Point; an uncle; two aunts and many cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Monroe Cox, Jr, and George Craig Cox.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, December 19, 2016 at Oak Hill Friends Meeting with Rev. John Sides officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday at Wright Cremation & Funeral Service.
