James Norman Olson, Sr., 80, of High Point, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Hospice Home at High Point.

Born September 15, 1937, in Owatonna, MN, he was a son of the late Adelyn Nanny Luther Olson and the late Norman Ansel Olson. He moved to Milwaukee, WI where he met Camille Ferrel, and married December 27,1958. Together they shared a ministry as Jehovah's Witnesses in Tennessee, Alabama and Kentucky.

Their son was born in 1965 and they returned to Wisconsin, where their two daughters were born. In 1993, the entire family moved to Thomasville, NC. Jim remained an active and faithful witness of Jehovah his entire life and held onto a sure hope of a resurrection promised by Christ in John 5:28 & 29. He then looks forward to living in an earthly paradise as described in Isaiah 65, Psalms 37 and Revelation 21 surrounded by his friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Camille Ferrel Olson; son, James Olson, Jr. (Desiree) of Oklahoma City, OK; daughters, Pamela Olson and Rebekah Hawks (Brandon) of High Point, NC; grandchildren Cole, Julia and Greyson Hawks; sisters, Donna Olson and Carol Tilford; numerous cousins; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brothers, Everett, Charles and Robert Olson.

Memorial services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Friday, February 16, 2018, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1475 Fisher Ferry Rd., Thomasville, NC 27360

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 6:45 PM prior to the service.
