James "Jim" Leonard Loufek, Jr.

James “Jim” Leonard Loufek, Jr, 60, of High Point, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point, North Carolina.

Jim was born January 9, 1964, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Jim Loufek, Sr. and his late mother Jane Loufek. Also preceding him in death was his brother Mike Loufek of St. Louis, MO.

He is survived by his daughter, Carolina Loufek and his son, Fillmore Loufek of High Point; sister, Lynne Loufek (Alex Pondalos) of Cape Canaveral, FL; brother, Steve Loufek (Michelle) of Merritt Island, Fl; sister, Susan Freeman (Thomas) of Asheville, NC; and nieces and nephews, Michael, Jr., Miranda, Joshua, Jacob, Heather, Nicole, and Tommy.

Jim cherished the joy of many genres of music through live performances, from intimate gigs to grand arena concerts. His love of music spanned over his lifetime while still keeping up to date with finding new sounds and new bands. His love for music was matched only by his devotion to sports. Whether cheering on his beloved Detroit Tigers or following the highs and lows of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jim was always on top of the most recent top sporting events.

Jim also leaves behind his Volvo community of friends and coworkers who will miss his talents, intellect and lively conversations. Through his job with Volvo Jim traveled extensively. His curiosity and love for adventure took him to many places around the world. Jim embraced every journey with open arms, delighting in the people he met, the sights he saw, and the meals he enjoyed.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be 2:00 PM Saturday, September 14, 2024, in the High Point Chapel of Wright Funeral-Cremations, with Daniel Gardner officiating. The service will be followed by a reception for friends and family. The location and time of the reception will be announced soon.
