James David Goss, Jr.

James David Goss, Jr, 67, of Randleman, North Carolina passed away in his home on Sunday, October 10, 2021.

James was born in Asheboro to James David Goss, Sr. and Betty Louise McCain on October 12, 1953.  He graduated from Randleman High School, then spent many years working as a truck driver, before retiring.  James was a humble and loving man.  He had a personality that everyone was drawn to, had the gift of gab, and never met a stranger.  He was a self-proclaimed “Handsome Gorgeous Goose”.  He was a pool shark and also enjoyed fishing.  His most notable accomplishments were his children and grandchildren. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.  He will truly be loved and missed by many.

James is preceded in death by his father, James David Goss, Sr. and mother, Betty Louise Goss.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son Daniel Gilmer; daughter, Shannell (Nell) Butler and partner Teri Davis; siblings, Jerome Goss (Romey) and wife Elizabeth, Teresa Goss, Valerie Spencer and husband Steve, Kacy Goss, and Timothy Goss and wife Marluce; Grandchildren, Dee, D.J. and Miranda; great-grandchildren, Carmen, Kaitlyn, Shataya, Devonte (Bubba), and Jalen; uncles, Reverend Ronald Goss, Austin Goss, and the mother of his children Patricia G. Gilmer.

A Memorial service to celebrate the life of James Goss, Jr will be Sunday, October 17, 2021 at 1:00Pm at Galilee Church, 7230 Cedar Square Road, Randleman, NC 27317, with Pastor Anthony Hill officiating.
