James Kent Gardner, 76, of Archdale, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018, at Hospice Home at High Point.

Born December 4, 1941, in Guilford County, he was a son of the late John Paul Gardner and the late Hazel Hazzard Gardner. Mr. Gardner was 1960 graduate of High Point High School and retired from the High Point Fire Department. After retirement, he was the owner and operator of Communication Center & Repair in Trinity.

He is survived by his fiancé, Robbie Adcock of Hamlet; son, Jeremy Gardner of Archdale; daughter, Amy Nagy and husband Bill of Trinity; brothers, Roy Gardner and wife Myra of High Point, John Paul Gardner, Jr. and wife Lavonne of Trinity, and Michael E. Gardner and wife Elaine of Huntersville; sister, Connie Cox and husband Ray of High Point.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Williams Gardner; son, Keith Gardner; brothers, Robert Gardner, and Donald Gardner; sisters, Edna Cranford, and Margie Clanton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 1, 2018, at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Morris Little officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
