James Edward Denson, Sr., 61, of High Point, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018, at Hospice Home at High Point.

Born December 24, 1956, in Tokyo, Japan, he was a son of the late Felix Denson and the late Willie Barwick Denson. Mr. Denson was US Army veteran, a carpenter, and a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Levi Denson of the home; sons, James Denson, Jr. and wife Lynda of Lakeland FL, and Nicholas Denson, and wife Jennifer of Fairmont, MN; daughters, Monica Van Sparrentak and husband Kenneth of Randleman, Shawneen Schmit and husband Josh of Truman, MN, and April Denson of Winston Salem; brother, William Denson and wife Karen of MO; sisters, Jeanie Wright of MO, Dorothy Denson of IL, and Angie Shults and husband Jeff of Lakeland, Fl; and twelve grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jessica Denson; and his brother, Ronnie Denson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 6, 2018, in the Gathering Room of Wright Cremation & Funeral Service with Rev. Brian Clark officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
