Rev. James Paul Cooper, 86, of Denton, passed away Monday, September 23, 2019, at Lexington Medical Center.

Born June 6, 1933, in Anderson County, Tennessee, he was a son of the late Lester Cooper and the late Ada Harrell Cooper. Rev. Cooper was a retired stone cutter and Church of God Minister.

He is survived by his wife Mary Alice McDowell Cooper of Denton; son, David Cooper of Randleman; daughter, Ethel Cooper of Southmont; five grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2:30 PM Sunday, October 6, 2019 at Denton Church of God.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ina Bradley Cooper; and daughter Sharon Cooper Hulin.
