Ira Wade Frazier, 75, of High Point, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the Atrium Health, Wake Forest Baptist Cancer Center in Winston Salem.
Wade was born on September 26, 1950, in High Point, NC, to the late Pastor Joseph Donald Frazier and Peggy Adams Frazier.
In addition to his parents, Wade was preceded in death by his former wife, Phyllis Gilley; grandparents, George and Mamie Parker Frazier of the Caraway area of Randolph County, NC, and Ira Thomas Adams and Gladys Mendenhall Adams of Guilford County, NC; brother, Joseph Donald Frazier, Jr.
Wade grew up in Guilford County, NC, and graduated from Ragsdale High School. After knowing Carol Lowe for nearly fifty-two years, she and Wade married and spent nearly two decades together. Wade was very devout in his faith and active in his church, Poplar Ridge Friends Meeting on Hoover Hill Road, near Asheboro, NC. There, he served as a past deacon and sang in the choir. Wade lived by a quote from his father, “It’s time to stop playing church and start having church.” He was in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was always proud that he was able to serve his country in that way. Wade enjoyed the outdoors and all that nature offered. He collected rocks, worked on his family’s farm and was an avid hunter, fisherman and NASCAR. Wade loved singing, music, laughing and joking with others, particularly his family and close friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carol Lowe Frazier; son, Christopher Wade Frazier; stepson, Corey Yates Leatherman; daughter, Cheri Frazier Glenn and husband John; stepdaughter, Cassi Alice Leatherman; grandchildren, Candis Ann Tazewell Leatherman, Taylor Courtney Frazier, eight step grandchildren; brother, Timothy Alan Frazier and wife Janice, brother, Lichard Hurley and wife Faydene; nephew Joseph Donald Frazier, III and his wife and sister-in-law, Alison Witcher.
Funeral Service will be 3:00 Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the High Point chapel of Wright Funerals-Cremations.
Burial will be in the Poplar Ridge Friends Meeting cemetery at a later .
The family will receive friends 2:30-3:00PM prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Global Missions Church of High Point, 4427 Hunter Oaks Ct., High Point, NC 27265.
