Ina Rae Gray passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026.
Born February 11, 1941, in High Point, NC she was the beloved daughter of Iva Lucille Hill Kiger and Zeb Vance Kiger. Ina Rae was the devoted wife of Albert Perry Gray who was truly the love of her life. Equally devoted to her family and friends, she cherished her roles as mother, grandmother, sister, and friend offering unconditional love, guidance and support to all that knew her.
Throughout her 45-year career in banking she built lasting relationships with customers and colleagues alike. She was a person whose warmth, integrity, and kindness earned respect and admiration from everyone she met.
Those fortunate enough to know Ina Rae knew that they could always count on her friendship. She embraced life with enthusiasm and joy, always ready for an adventure, whether it was a spontaneous outing, a scheduled trip, or simply spending time with those she loved. The beach held a special place in her heart and was truly her “happy place.” Any opportunity to spend time by the ocean was one she eagerly welcomed.
A faithful member of Green Street Baptist Church for many years, Ina Rae found strength, purpose, and comfort in her growing faith. Through her church family, she developed many cherished friendships that enriched her life and supported her throughout the years.
More than anything else, Ina Rae treasured her family. She was a devoted mother whose love and dedication never wavered even during the most challenging times. She remained a constant caregiver, always placing the needs of others before her own.
She is survived by her daughters, Janine Crystal Gray and Abbie Gray Dougherty (Mike), grandson Riley Dougherty, brother Billy Vance Kiger, sister Angela Kiger and cherished nieces and nephews….and granddog, Roxy. She was proceeded in death by her mother, Iva Lucille Kiger, her husband Albert Perry Gray and her grandson Michael Gray Dougherty.
Ina Rae will be remembered by her quick wit, spirited personality, thoughtfulness, and fierce loyalty. If you were fortunate enough to call her a friend, you knew that you had a friend for life.
