William Craig Hutchinson, known by most people as “Hutch”, 66, of Trinity, lost his battle with cancer Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at the family home.

Mr. Hutchinson was born May 12, 1949 in High Point, a son to Oscar & Lula Modlin Hutchinson. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served as an MP in Fort Knox, Kentucky and a tour in Vietnam. He was employed by High Point Police Department from 1975 until he retired September, 2002. Following retirement, he worked part time with the U.S. Marshals, and security jobs at FedEx and AIG.

In addition to his parents, Lula Modlin Goings and Oscar Willard Hutchinson, Mr. Hutchinson was preceded in death by a step-father, Paul David Goings and a brother, Dallas Hutchinson.

On May 20, 1995, he married the former Teresa Gay Fincher who survives of the home. Surviving in addition to his wife, “Terri”, are one son: Randy Hutchinson of Thomasville, NC; a step-daughter: Jamie Fincher Duvall and her husband Travis of Thomasville, NC; two grandchildren: Adalyn Duvall and Eli Duvall, a brother Donnie Ray Hutchinson and his wife Shirley, a sister Patricia Ann Hatfield and her husband Verlan and several loving nephews and nieces.

A service to celebrate Hutch’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday at the Covenant Church, High Point, with Pastor Michelle Foster and Pastor Kyles Wallace officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the church.
