Howard “Edd” Edward Smith, 69, of Archdale, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at his home.

Born January 15, 1950, in Kingsport, Tennessee, he was a son of the late Howard Smith and the late Della Fields Smith. Edd was a US Army veteran, a heavy machine operator and a member of Gospelway Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Lamb Smith of the home; son, David “Bo” Smith of Archdale; daughter, Gloria Green and husband Bryan of Washington; stepson, Chris Gregory of Archdale; sisters, Linda Smith, Karen Sue Thompson, Dee Meadows, and Lisa Bell; and four grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Buddy Smith and Todd Smith; and brother, Ronnie Smith.

Memorial services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Gospelway Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends following the service.
